I was born in beautiful Somerset, Kentucky. As a young girl, I fell in love with not only the beautiful scenery in the Lake Cumberland area, but also with the people, strong roots, and family ties and traditions that reside in this area. As a young adult searching for my career path in life, I knew that I wanted to grow up and follow a career path where I would work to assist my community a way that would enhance their quality of life. I quickly noticed that many community members were struggling with serious Mental Health issues that were considered taboo at the time.
I found my calling in the Mental Health field working to help eradicate barriers on breaking down the stigmas that are associated with Mental Health problems. I attended Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, KY, and pursued this calling. I graduated in May of 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with additional study in Criminal Justice. I found that I loved working in the field and helping others; yet, quickly realized that I wanted to further my education and pursue a counseling degree in order to provide optimum help to anyone that I met on personal and professional level. So, I attended Campbellsville University and graduated in December of 2016 with my Master’s in Social Work.
Since 2017 my work home has been Quest Counseling and I currently serve as Human Resource Director and am a LCSW and enjoy helping both clients and employees on their personal Quest to overcome obstacles during their life journeys.
